The Excuses Of Failure 1

Chapter 1- The right to succeed Every Christian that has ever come forth by the power of redemption through the sacrifice of Christ has the right and authority to succeed in the new life. Gods word was given to produce an expected end of fruitfulness for each individual regardless of back ground, color, nationality or education. The word of God does not know the difference between color or nationality. The word does not differentiate between child or adult male or female black white brown or red. The word is simply a seed to produce after its own kind for anyone who will hear receive and allow its growth in their life. I make these statements to eliminate the idea or reasoning that would allow the excuses of any individuals that believe their circumstances or background would disqualify them from a full and enjoyable harvest from Gods word. Let me give you a scripture that is worthy of your time of meditation and acceptance. 2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Take a few minutes and speak those words out loud so that you can hear them from your own mouth. You should say over your life each day until it becomes a truth to you that you are a new creature and all things are becoming new for you. You are not going to have a repeat of your family history or your own personal history but have started something new as a new creation in Christ. You now have the right seeds to sow for a future and blessed life. You are right now a new creature with abilities and strengths deposited within you through your new birth as a child of God. So excuse number one that must be eliminated is: I can not succeed with Gods word because of “who I am or where I come from”. Have you ever wondered why you would succeed or what gives you the right? Is it just effort alone that causes success? Is it discipline and self denial? Is it higher education? Many of Gods people much like those in the world are searching for the formula and wondering if they will have what it takes to succeed when they find it. You may be surprised to find that in all of these areas you will find people that are successful and unsuccessful. Methods alone can not achieve the goal of what we believe to be successful. There are no magic formulas in life only testimonies or excuses. Before you go getting discouraged at these statements I would like to say all of the changes you make in life will either add to or take away from your success depending on good or bad decisions but will not accomplish the desired success within its self. If I were to ask 10 individuals what their version of success is I would most likely get 10 variations of success. Though they may have some similarities they would all vary at some point. The reason is that each individual is unique in what they desire. So allow me to destroy the illusion that everyone who appears successful feels successful. We can all look at other people and believe that if we were living in more of their lifestyle we would be successful. So what is success? Is it completion, advancement, accomplishments? Until a person knows what success is they will not know when they are achieving it. Some believe success is gaining great wealth where others believe it to be the establishment of helpful foundations. When I look at the word success I find it has a given meaning for what someone sees as success of achievement personally or what they believe appears to be success of accomplishments by others. suc·cess suc·cess [sək séss] (plural suc·cess·es) n 1. achievement of intention: the achievement of something planned or attempted 2. attainment of fame, wealth, or power: impressive achievement, especially the attainment of fame, wealth, or power 3. something that turns out well: something that turns out as planned or intended 4. somebody successful: somebody who is wealthy, famous, or powerful because of a record of achievement [Mid-16th century. < Latin successus < past participle of succedere (see succeed)] Encarta ® World English Dictionary © & (P) 1998-2005 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved. So according to the dictionary success would be either achievements or possessions. I want to suggest something at this point that you may have never considered. The person writing the meanings of this dictionary is suggesting their conclusions of the word success based on their own ideas of what success is. What I find disturbing about this is that the only celebration that can occur is at the end of it all. It seems that only what can be boasted on at the end is considered successful. I am sure you are wondering what I am attempting to say by this time and it is this. When we see success in this way we are deceived in its truth and feel as though we have yet to achieve any real accomplishments of success. The other thing I would like you to see is that if we do achieve a goal under this illusion we then believe others to be underachievers or unsuccessful. Can I inject a thought in the area of success that a very few people understand that are born again or not. The thought is this. If you have received Christ you have succeeded and if you have not you have failed up until this point in life. This understanding will determine if you act think or speak with success or failure. Mat 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Ecc 2:10 And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them, I withheld not my heart from any joy; for my heart rejoiced in all my labour: and this was my portion of all my labour. 11 Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun. Success never starts until a person leaves the failure of Adam no matter how much they have or achieve in life. Success is much more than external circumstances. There are many people who have what appears to be all of the success in life with possessions or fame who are left empty and even take their own life because of their emptiness. There are also those who have lost what they believed to be their success and were devastated because all of their worth was placed within it mentally and emotionally. Now referring back to the opening statements of this chapter “Every Christian that has ever come forth by the power of redemption through the sacrifice of Christ has the right and authority to succeed in their new life with Christ.” I hope that I have instilled the idea that success has a foundation and failure has a foundation. The foundation of either is found in the first or the second Adam. The first Adam is a foundation of failure where the second Adam (The Christ) is the foundation of success. There are those who reach the end of their life and believe they were successes because of their accomplishments or assets but in reality only produced the boastful pride of life. They may have even been generous or kind and supported charitable foundations. The harsh reality is that this life was at its best a temporary environment for them. I could say a temporary achievement of effort. The works that were done while in the body will face the judgment of motives attitudes and what most never consider obedience to Gods purposes and will. So in the elimination of excuse number one: “who I am or where I come from” should be determined now. If you are reading this book and have not received Jesus as the sacrifice for your sin and the cleansing of the life of the first Adam the decision should be made now. Simply ask God to forgive you and accept you as one of his children. If you have done this already then confirm the truth of your foundation being in Christ and that you have begun a life of success that will grow. Gen 39:3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
